One-day workshop for learning how to develop simple animation and game for children without parental care and children of the Roma population. The participants in age 10 to 14 will learn how to build simple animations, the participants in age 15 to 18 will learn how to make a simple game. Both groups will use Java-based development environment. The target groups should develop the creativity and critical thinking. We would like to help them to open a door of the programming paradigm. The most important goal is to develop interest in IT sector and to influence on their professional orientation and their future. Beside developing the programming skills and interest in the IT sector, an important goal of the workshop is to connect children of different social status. We would like to make a direct interaction between our students, who will be assistant educators, and participants, in order to overcome diversity. Having in mind that members of the Roma population very often leave the school after or during the primary school, it is important to us to encourage children to continue the education in the secondary school and even more. That is to be achieved by opening the doors of our school and give him a chance to see how we work. The educators in the workshop will be professors of our school and our students - assistant educators. We would like to continue this type of education of the target groups by organizing some advanced workshops.
